A mixing unit that runs on water pressure alone

EASYMIX is a coolant mixing unit for water-miscible metalworking fluids. It mounts straight onto the container of concentrate and needs no power: when the water is turned on, the flow creates a venturi effect that draws concentrate in and blends it with water inside the unit. The finished emulsion goes through the outlet hose into the machine tank or a storage vessel.

That is the whole idea — the concentration is set once on the unit and then repeats itself on every batch, instead of depending on who is doing the mixing and how carefully.

Will it run on your water supply?

This is the question to settle first, and it has a number: 2 to 6 bar inlet pressure. Most workshop mains supplies are inside that range, but a long run of small-bore pipe or a shared line under load can drop below it. The unit has an integrated pressure gauge on the water inlet so you can see what you are actually getting rather than what the building drawing says.

Output is up to 1200 l/h, depending on that pressure. In practice that means a 200-litre machine tank fills in around ten minutes at full flow — filling a tank stops being a job you plan around.

What it mounts on

Directly onto a standard steel drum with a G2" thread — that is the 208-litre drum of every EASYCUT coolant. The telescopic suction tube adjusts so the same unit also works on a canister.

For a 1000-litre IBC the frame and outlet are a different fitting, so the IBC adapter with bracket is needed — bracket, reinforced suction hose and adapter cap with ball valve.

What is built in

Most of the engineering here is about things not going the wrong way:

Check valve on the water inlet — nothing can flow back from the unit into the water line.
Check valve on the suction tube — concentrate cannot run back into its own container.
Suction filter on the concentrate inlet, so what reaches the mixing chamber is clean.
Outlet hose ventilation after mixing, so the hose does not stay full and drip.
Anodised aluminium alloy and stainless steel throughout — the wetted parts sit in coolant concentrate for years.

Why mix by machine rather than by hand

Emulsion mixed by hand varies — in exactly the figure that matters. Too thin means corrosion and short sump life; too rich means foam, residue on parts and skin exposure, plus concentrate poured away for nothing. The variation is not carelessness, it is what happens when a bucket, a hose and a busy shift are involved.
