The price per litre in the IBC is the same as in the 208-litre drum. Taking the IBC does not buy you a volume discount — it buys you less work: one delivery instead of nearly five drums, one fixed draw-off point instead of a drum lifter, and no empty drums to dispose of.
That assumes you already work with pallets and a forklift and have room for a container. If you do not, take the 208 l drum — the same price per litre and far easier to move.
EDM601 is stable for 12 months in closed containers. At 1022 litres that means you should be using around 85 litres a month, otherwise you end up with fluid in the yard that is older than its specification. In drums, that is roughly one drum every two and a half months.
If your consumption is below that, the drum is the right size — not because the IBC is worse, but because you will not empty it in time.
EASYCUT EDM601 — the same fluid as in the drum and the canister. A universal dielectric for sinker EDM machines and for wire EDM machines running oil technology, from roughing to fine finishing, on steels, carbides and non-ferrous metals. Used neat, colourless and very low in odour. Figures are in the table above this description; the fluid is described in full on the 208 l drum page. For topping up in between there is the 19 l canister.
