BASE201 is the least expensive coolant EASYCUT makes, and the IBC is its largest container — put together, that is about 0.51 EUR per litre of ready emulsion at 8 %. For a shop turning cast iron and steel in volume, this combination is the cheapest way to keep tanks full without dropping to a product that was not built for the work.
The price per litre of concentrate is the same as in the 208-litre drum. What the IBC changes is handling: one delivery instead of nearly five drums, one fixed draw-off point, no empty drums to dispose of. The mixing unit runs from it using the IBC adapter with bracket; on a drum it mounts directly.
At 8 % this container makes roughly 12,800 litres of working emulsion. Set that against your annual consumption — concentrate ages in the container, and an IBC standing half-full after two years has cost more than it saved. Without pallet handling and floor space, the 208 l drum is the better buy at the same price per litre.
Check your water before this size, not after: BASE201 is set with make-up water of 10 to 30 °dH, a narrower range than the rest of the EASYCUT line, which starts at 5. In use it stays stable to around 60 °dH, but hardness climbs with every top-up because water leaves and minerals stay — see Mixing coolant and water quality.
EASYCUT BASE201: semi-synthetic, boron-free, around 20 % mineral oil, for cast iron, unalloyed to low-alloy steel and grinding. Refractometer factor 1.6 — the only product in the range that does not use 1.3. Corrosion protection to DIN 51360/2 at grade 0 from 4 %, pH 10.4 at 5 %.
