The price per litre in the IBC is the same as in the 208-litre drum. Taking the IBC does not buy a volume discount — it buys less work: one delivery instead of nearly five drums, one fixed draw-off point, and no empty drums to dispose of. The mixing unit is fitted using the IBC adapter with mounting bracket.
That assumes you already work with pallets and a forklift and have room for a container. If you do not, take the 208 l drum — the same price per litre and far easier to move.
From 1022 litres of concentrate you get roughly 12,800 litres of working emulsion at 8 %. That is the scale of a shop with several machines and a central coolant supply, not of a workshop with two tanks. Work out your annual consumption before ordering — concentrate ages in the container, and an IBC that stands for two years is not a good purchase.
EASYCUT UNI301 — the same fluid as in the drum and the canister. A semi-synthetic, boron-free coolant with around 30 % mineral oil for cast iron, steel, stainless steel and a large part of the aluminium alloys. Refractometer factor 1.3, make-up water 5 to 30 °dH, stable in use to around 60 °dH. Described in full on the 208 l drum page; for topping up in between there is the 19 l canister.
With a central supply it is worth watching water hardness: it rises in the tank with every top-up, because water evaporates and the minerals stay behind. The connection is covered in Mixing coolant and water quality. The data sheet and safety data sheet are on this page as downloads.
